Activating Elastio Cost Allocation Tags
To activate Elastio cost allocation tags in the root AWS account of your organization, follow these steps:

Navigate to the AWS Console
- Open the AWS Console{:target="_blank"}.
- Note: Cost allocation tags can only be activated in the organization's root account.

Search for Elastio Tags
- In the AWS Console, use the search bar to locate tags associated with
elastio
. - These tags should already be defined for your resources.

Select Relevant Tags
- Use the checkbox at the top of the list to select all Elastio-related tags.

Activate the Tags
- Click the Activate button located at the top-right of the AWS Console interface.

Wait for Activation
- The tags will be activated within 24–36 hours, after which you can generate reports.
Reporting on Elastio Costs
Once the Elastio cost allocation tags are active, you can use AWS Cost Explorer to retrieve and analyze the associated costs.
Steps to Access Cost Reports

Open AWS Cost Explorer
Navigate to the Cost Explorer section of the AWS Console. -
Filter by Elastio Tags
- In the "Tags" section, search for the keyword "Elastio."
- Select All relevant tags to view the associated costs.
- Click the Activate button at the top-right of the AWS Console.

Visualize Spending
- Use the available charts and graphs in Cost Explorer to analyze your Elastio costs by service, usage, or time period.

Download Cost Reports as CSV
- For a detailed cost breakdown, click the Download as CSV button under the "Cost and Usage Breakdown" section.

- Usage metrics (e.g., GB stored, number of API calls)
- Costs by region and time period
